Forklift Operator (Yard Man) - PAY DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE (HUNTINGDON BASED)

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse and yard, as well as loading vehicles for delivery.

You will need experience operating both counterbalance and multidirectional forklifts, as well as powered stackers. This is an active, physical role that involves constant movement and decision-making. You will work both indoors within the workshop and outdoors in the yard, so adaptability is key.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse and yard
• Load and unload materials from trucks and containers accurately and on time
• Work efficiently, accurately, and above all safely in all tasks
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely fulfilment of orders
• Inspect and maintain your equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety hazards immediately
• Adhere to the highest standards of health and safety regulations at all times

What We Are Looking For

• Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (required)
• Experience: Proven experience in materials handling within a warehouse and yard setting
• Skills: Experience with both counterbalance and multidirectional forklifts, plus powered stackers
• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy loads safely and efficiently
• Numeracy: Basic math skills for inventory management tasks
• Systems: Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus
• Character: Clean, organised, and a team player with excellent communication skills
• Mindset: Safety-focused, reliable, and proactive
