Material and Finish

All our balustrades are manufactured from mild steel and supplied with a primer finish, ready for installation and final finishing by others on site. We utilize a variety of profiles to suit any architectural requirement, including tube rail, flat rail, offset rail, and fully bespoke solutions.

Reduced Hot Works On-Site

Only the top rail needs attaching on-site. This means significantly fewer hot works permits, less fire watch provision, and reduced disruption to adjacent trades. The result? A safer, more efficient installation that keeps your project on schedule.

By minimising on-site welding, we help you save on site overheads, reduce labour hours, and eliminate the need for temporary solutions. Fewer hot works hours mean less idle time for other trades and a smoother overall programme.

One of the greatest benefits of our Hot Works service is the instant fall protection it provides. With the top rail system in place early, your site gains immediate safety protection without the need for temporary edge protection solutions. This means your operatives can work confidently and securely from day one.

Compliance and Standards

Safety is paramount in balustrade design, and our products are rigorously tested to meet the latest building regulations. We design and manufacture in accordance with:

  • BS 4592-0: Flooring, stair treads and handrails for industrial use.
  • BS 6180:2011: Barriers in and around buildings, covering installation and performance.
  • BS EN 1991-1-1: Actions on structures, ensuring our balustrades withstand required loads.

Technical Performance

Our balustrades are engineered to exceed the characteristic imposed load of 0.74 kN/m as defined by BS6399-1. Load testing confirms that our 40x40x3 SHS balusters achieve a bending capacity of 2.03 kNm, comfortably passing the required bending moment tests. Deflection checks confirm cantilever performance remains below the 25mm limit, ensuring rigidity and safety in use.

We utilize cold-formed welded circular hollow sections to EN 10219 Grade S235JRH, as well as hot-rolled flat bars to EN 10058, all with certified chemical and mechanical properties.

    Flame Retardant Protection

Safety and compliance are engineered into every component. Our stair formwork has undergone rigorous testing to validate its performance.

      Physical Protection:

It shields the primer finish from site damage until final finishing.

      Site Safety:

It is designed to reduce the risk of ignition when our site welders are completing handrail installation, providing an essential layer of fire safety during construction.

The material achieves a UL 94 V-2 rating and passes DIN 4102 tests for flame retardancy, ensuring it meets strict site safety standards.

      Bespoke Capability

Our in-house design team works closely with clients to create bespoke handrail solutions that meet both aesthetic visions and regulatory requirements.

From contemporary flat bar designs to traditional tube profiles, we have the capacity to deliver.
